H. Sea House

Location: Abu Dhabi - UAE
Area: 1700m2
Type: Luxury Vacation House

This sea house project was designed to capture simple luxury. It is a large project, 1700 m2, consisting of four main zones based on the users; guests, shared entertainment, family, and services/staff.

When you first enter the project with your car through the gate, you reach a small roundabout that drops you to the majles (the guest reception area), your car of course will be taken by the drivers to park it near the drivers' room. By entering the majles, you will be fascinated by the view of the sea through the large glass windows, this space also is connected to the entertainment room, where you can play with your friends some video games and have a light snack. If you are lucky enough, the host will allow you to the in/out pool, swim to the sunset, have dinner in the main family dining area, and be guided to your room for a stay-over. As a family, your driver will drive you from the circle to the fountain, where the family entrance exists, which is a negative space that separates the private and the semi-public areas. You will take a deep breath while capturing the sea view, then you go to the family room and lay on the couch while the chef prepares for the outdoor dinner. You sit by the fire, close to your family, take a walk to the private beach gazebo, come back to the chalets where you should sleep, and wake up the next morning to the most amazing sea view.

The layout of the house is based on several factors; the view, the sun, and the social norms (privacy). The design of the one-floor house is inspired by the experience of luxury resorts, and that is reflected in the materials (wood and plaster), landscape design (including fire, water, and soft-scape elements), and the disconnected masses (as you need to go outside in order to enter the chalets).
